The lazy woman’s workout

The lazy woman’s workout

You’ve always hated going to a gym — lugging around a change of clothes and shower products isn’t your idea of fun. Perhaps you’re one of the lucky ones with genes that gave you the skinny without the work, but now you’re finding that skinny no longer equals fit-looking. Or you just never found time in between raising kids to fit in a workout routine.

In any event, if you’re too busy or too intimidated by gym culture, you can still get in a workout.

We consulted fitness trainer Maureen Wilson, 46, who’s been helping women get fit for 27 years at her Sweat Co. Studios in Vancouver. She gave us five exercises to get you off the sofa and into shape. She advises beginners to, “Move slowly, start with light weights to build strength gradually, and remember to breathe throughout the movement.”
