West coast early bird ski deals
With a couple of weeks left until skiers and boarders start shredding the slopes in B.C.'s interior, you may want to see if you still fit into that hot-pink ski-bunny suit as well as booking some early-season deals.
Silver Star: Whether skier, snowboarder or cross-country aficionado, you can ski for free from opening day until December 17, 2009 (requires a two-night minimum stay). Plus, Silver Star is so confident in its ability to deliver lots of the white stuff that they offer a snow guarantee: If they're unable to operate even one lift due to lack of natural snow you can either change your accommodation package to another available date or cancel without penalty.
Sun Peaks: A night's accommodation in the ski village comes with a one-day Nordic pass to 51 kms of trails that start right outside your door. And, come January, what could be more skier appropriate than a Winter Wine Festival? (You'll be so inspired, when you get home you'll want to throw your own wine-tasting!)
Big White: Get busy—If you book three nights and three days of days of skiing by November 30, you'll get the fourth free. Budget condos start at $57 per night. (Skiers are never in their rooms anyway.)
Whitewater: The Mid-Week White Sale offers three nights accommodation in downtown Nelson and 3 days of blissful skiing. Available mid-week in January and March (Sunday-Thursday) for $199 per person. (While you're there, check out Fresh Tracks cafe!)
Apex: Dubbed Monday Night Madness, $89 translates into a night's accommodation, hearty breakfast and ski pass. Based on double occupancy.
Kicking Horse: Book a minimum of three nights and three ski days and receive a free lift ticket per person valid for a return visit valid during the upcoming season.
Revelstoke: Book a heli-skiing package with Selkirk Tangiers in December, strap on the boards and head out for unlimited vertical on any multi-day package.
