Text your way to his heart
Now that you’ve got your head around Twitter, here’s another term for your tech lexicon: flirtexting. More spoke to Debra Goldstein and Olivia Baniuszewicz, the authors of Flirtexting: How to Text Your Way to His Heart, to decode this new frontier of digital dating
I don’t have my reading glasses, why even bother?
“Being able to say ‘text me’ shows that you’re a smart woman who knows how to navigate the modern world. It connotes vitality, being with it, and that you’re able to master new technologies. That’s sexy any way you look at it.”
How can you get on board without sounding like a try-hard?
"Poking some fun at the fact that you’re tech-savvy shows confidence while saving you from sounding like a teenager. Try sending a cute message like, 'I text. Please withhold your applause' or 'If you’re already slightly intimidated, I guess I shouldn’t tell you that I text too ;)' instead of the cringe-worthy, 'Text me — that’s how I roll.'"
How do I pull it off without sounding like I’m out of practice?
“Women who are newly single and re-entering the social scene need to understand that the way they text with their girlfriends and children is not going to be the same way they flirtext with a man. Don’t divulge every detail like: ‘Hey, babe. Getting my legs waxed now and then have to shower. Can we move dinner to 8?’ The challenge is keeping men engaged through flirty, focused, light messages while still maintaining some mystery. Instead, try: ‘Running a little late. Dinner @ 8? Can’t wait.’”
