A Closet Full Of Clothes and Nothing To Wear

Postby Karen Hamilton on Thu Apr 16, 2009 2:21 pm

I just found the answer to having a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear and her name is Wendy.

Wendy Woods is the owner of Toronto's The Refinery, a different kind of style and image consulting company. While The Refinery is well known for their shopping tours around Toronto, Wendy loves to offer practical help and advice to women about their closets and clothing dilemmas.

I had Wendy in this morning to show me how to shop my closet. Like many women, I tend to buy pieces but then I don't know how to put them together into an outfit. Which makes me think I need to buy more stuff and on and on it goes until I have tons of clothes yet rely on my "uniform" of jeans and t-shirts because I don't know how to make everything work.

Enter Wendy. After finding out about my lifestyle and needs (midlife mom who doens't want to go for groceries and end up running in to neighbours, high-school boyfriend or stuck-up head of the PTA looking like a frump), Wendy started pulling outfits together for me.

She came up with combos I wouldn't have thought of and that looked really good. I felt like I had an entire new wardrobe without buying any new clothes. I felt good, saved me money and appeased my inner environmentalist.
