40-second rant: Watch the video!

More's own Sarah Moore sounds off on what tickles and ticks her off. Got something to say? Enter our 40-second rant contest and you could win $400!

From the February/March 2010 issue of More: Flex this!

My name is Sarah and I am a flexitarian. For those of you unfamiliar with the term (as I was until a marketing expert enlightened me), allow me: “Flexitarianism describes a way of eating that allows you to be a flexible vegetarian.” Yeah, that’s right — you can be a holier-than-thou, kale-and-quinoa-consuming veggie freak, who, from time to time, inhales prime rib. Awesome, yes? For the record, I’m also a fleximoralist who enjoys mocktails with my best frenemies. Authenticity is so overrated.

I really hate it when you go the medical lab. Everybody should know that you need to show your Alberta Health Care card but they don't have it ready and it holds up the line while they have to dig around to try and find their card.

I don't think it is fair how much we are bending backwards to accommodate every immigrant's religious holiday and cultural habits. For example, certain groups are not only entitled to the standard Canadian holidays, but they get extra days off depending on their religious beliefs. Canadians get only the standard! Why aren't we entitled to the same? When any Canadian visits other countries, we are expected to respect their cultures and beliefs, and we adapt accordingly (we can even be thrown in jail if we don't). When immigrants come here, they expect (and even demand) their cultural beliefs to be given priority. They chose to come here, and we welcome them wholeheartedly, however, why isn't Canada and the Canadian culture being given the same respect? Surely our leaders can stop thinking only of votes and do what is right? We can't even say Christmas anymore, it has to be a "Seasonal Holiday" - we are losing our identity, traditions, and our culture to the very people we offer to help. I am an immigrant who adapted, respected, kept my culture within our family and friends, and have still enjoyed all Canada offers. I am proud to be a Canadian!

I have children in high school and also in college and my rant is about these group projects their teachers are assigning like there is no tomorrow! There is scheduling, driving and then there is that one teammate who completely drops the ball and expects the others to fix it. Stop now with this craziness! Back to solo projects, please :)
